5G is taking its first steps commercially but the biggest tech companies are already planning the next generation in wireless communications, 6G. To this end, a new alliance was formed, called the Next G Alliance, which consists of the largest companies in the world.
The Next G Alliance aims to develop and provide the leading solution for the next generation network. Microsoft, Samsung, Nokia, Qualcomm, Intel, Facebook and Ericsson are just some of the companies that have formed this alliance. The cooperation of the above companies is done under the supervision of ATIS (Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions), an alliance for solutions in the telecommunications industry.
6G Network is coming
During the development of 5G, all the companies did their own research and testing, with ATIS creating this alliance to make the development of 6G smoother, with a common line and cooperation between all companies. The first meeting of the Next G Alliance will take place in November. The founding members will appoint a steering group as well, while working groups will be set up in early 2021.
In June 2019, Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung announced that they would partner with Japan’s SK Telecom to develop 6G technology even faster than the existing 5G technology in Europe. With them is the largest provider in Europe, Deutsche Telekom.
